Tämä postaus on täysin ja ainoastaan kaikesta mitä olen ostanut. Ellet jostakin syystä ole kiinnostunut hulluista shoppailuretkistäni, odottaisin hetken sillä "oikeaa tavaraa" postataan pian :D Peking on valtava kaupunki jossa on hyvät ostosmahdollisuudet. Nyt yrittäeassäni mahduttaa n. kuukauden shoppailut muutamaan päivään... tekemistä riittää.
So this post is FULLY about the stuff I bought. If you aren't too interested in my crazy shopping spree, I'd wait a moment, "real stuff" will be posted soon enough :D Beijing is a big city with good shopping areas. Now that I'm trying to fit a month worth of shopping within a few days... lets just say that there's a lot to do.

Lauantaina kävin tapaamassa muutamia ystäviäni The Villagessa. Kävellessäni ympäriinsä satuin törmäämään Page Oneen, lempi kirjakauppaani kaupungissa. Koska minun piti hankkia The Stranger/The outsider ennen lomilta palaamista, päädyin toteamaan että kansainvälinen kirjakauppa sopii paremmin kuin loistavasti. Ja siellähän se makaili rauhassa, klassikkokirjallisuuden osastolla. Päätin myös käydä tutkimassa Hollisteria joka avattiin paikalle juuri päivää ennen muuttoani yhdessä ystäväni kanssa joka ei ollut myöskään käynyt siellä. Koska pyrin yleensä ostamaan halvalla voidakseni saada enemmän, on Hollister tavallisesti hintaluokkani yläpuolella. (määrä korvaa laadun tässä tapauksessa.) Tällä kertaa tarjolla oli tosin joitain alennuksia ja nyt... omistan ensimmäisen Hollister paitani, joka onkin täydellinen nyt ilmojen viiletessä.
On saturday I was meeting a few of my old friends in The Village. While walking around I happened to walk past "Page One", my current favorite bookstore in town. Since I needed to find The Stranger/The Outsider before getting back to school, I thought an international bookstore would be more than perfect. And there it laid peacefully in the classics section. I also decided to check out the Hollister which opened a day before I moved to Finland together with one of my friends who had never been there either. Since I usually prefer to buy reasonably cheap to be able to afford more, Hollister is typically above my price range. (Quantity over quality in this case.) However, they had some sales now... and that is how I got my first Hollister shirt, which will be perfect now that the weather's getting colder.

Sunnuntaina Maria ja minä tapasimme Solanassa... Joka sattumalta on suosikki kauppakeskukseni täällä. Shoppailulta ei voinut välttyä. H&M on mukava, sieltä tuntuu joka kerta löytyvän jotakin mikä on pakko saada. Yllättävää kyllä, Kiinassa tuntuu olevan eri vaatteita kuin Suomessa.
Odottaessani kyytiä kotiin, päädyin kävelemään Stradivariukseen. Minulla on mielenkiintoinen ongelma kyseisen kaupan kanssa: kun katson vaatteet nopeasti läpi, tunnen haluavani ostaa kaiken. Mutta katsoessani tarkemmin en koskaan olekkaan täysin tyytyväinen ja osan harvoin mitään. Silloin harvoin kun todella ostan jotakin, se on aina vaate jota olen etsinyt iät ja ajat. (Olen myös aika varma että kaikki sieltä ostamani on ollut jostakin syystä mustaa :D)
On Sunday me and Maria got together in Solana... which just happens to be my favorite mall here. Shopping could not be avoided. H&M is nice, there's always something that you just have to get. And surprisingly, the Chinese stores seem to sell different clothing than the once in Finland.
While waiting for my pickup, I stumbled in Stradivarius. I have an interesting problem with the store: when looking at the clothing quickly, I always feel as if I could buy it all. But once I have a closer look, I rarely actually buy anything. However, when I get something there, it is always a piece I've been trying to get for ages. (also, I'm pretty sure that everything I've bought there has been black :D)

Maanantaina oli päivä jota isäni on pelännyt: Päätimme käydä Wanfujingilla... Ja mitä siellä onkaan? Kaupungin ainoa Forever 21. Siskoni ja minä voimme käyttää kirjaimellisesti tunteja käyden läpi rekkejä ja pistäen pystyyn muotinäytöksen sovituksessa. Minun käy itseasiassa aika sääliksi työntekijöitä tämän kerran vuoksi, kaikkeen meni kauan aikaa. Mutta me nautimme joten vahinkoa ei tapahtunut (toivottavasti).
Monday was the day my father had dreaded: We decided to visit Wanfujing... And what's there? The only Forever 21 in town. My sisters and I can literally spend hours in there looking through the racks, and putting on a fashion show while trying on the bags full of clothes. I actually feel quite sorry for the staff because of this time, it all took a while... But we enjoyed, so no harm done (I hope).

Kuluttaaksemme illalla aikaa minä ja vanhempi siskoistani kävimme U-Townissa, taaskin mukava kauppakeskus. Katselin lähinnä, mutta väsymyksestä huolimatta sain jotakin. Herättää mukavasti ;)

Tänään siskoni ja minä menimme retkelle helmimarkettiin. Totta puhuen olen todella kaivannut tinkimistä, ja niinpä tämä olikin täydellistä. Saatoin maksaa joistakin hieman liikaa, hinnat menivät alas liian helposti. Hinnat olivat kuitenkin niin halvat etten jaksanut tapella. Today me and my sis took a field trip to the pearl market. To tell the truth, I had really missed bargaining, and so this was perfect. I may have paid a bit too much for some, the price went down too easy. Overall the price itself was so low I didn't feel like fighting over it. The bargain markets are perfect when you just want something, but really not anything too important.
